Our hand restoration, repair and binding service is totally unique in one important area. That area is speed. Speed and hand binding are very close to an oxymoron because waits of 6 months or more are extremely common. We ourselves have, in the past before we developed our own service, had to wait more than two and one half years for one item!
Our typical turn around time is approximately 4 weeks. And if cost is not a major concern we can usually arrange as fast as 5 working days turn around.
Besides speed, the quality of our work in the normal price range of our service is unsurpassed. We have hundreds of very satisfied clients.
The following descriptions of work and prices will give you an idea of the usual cost of these services. Keep in mind that each item is a case unto itself and costs vary for things like the size of the books, saving original end papers, the need to reattach loose pages, adding gilt, etc.

The spine was restored and rebacked and the original boards were preserved. The paper signatures were repaired and resewn together to create a newly strengthened text block.

In this case, the book was literally torn apart. The distraught owners brought the heirloom to us to have salvaged if at all possible. They thought they would have to have it completely rebound in new leather but our binder was able to reattach the front section which had been torn out, as well as restore and repair the spine. Even the bible's bookmark was salvaged and reattached.

For our bindery to perform any work, the following condition must be accepted by you: "I understand that C. Dickens will take all necessary and proper care in the handling and repair/restoration/rebinding/binding, etc., of this book(s). If, however, this book(s) is(are) lost or damaged, our liability is limited to the refund of any payment that may have been made to C. Dickens in connection with this work."
